When I was just nine years old, I and my parents and younger siblings left Afghanistan for Ottawa, Ontario. Here, I quickly developed my passion for public service and a desire to help others through volunteering in the community. And in 2014, I was a nominated candidate for the 2014 Ottawa Municipal Elections (as seen in above photo).
I am well known in the community through my volunteerism. I have 10 years of volunteer experience with several non-profit organizations. I have volunteered with Oxfam Canada, Ecology of Ottawa, Acorn Canada and most recently with the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario.
Now, in 2018, I am studying office administration at Algonquin College and I am also studying non-profit management certificate at Mount Royal University.
In addition, I serve as a General Manager with Taleam Systems, a computer support company.
