In 2011, several countries fought Daesh in Syria while also helping Bashar Al-Asad regime in order to keep power in the country.
However, some 7 million people left the country to seek safety in neighboring countries.
We heard about the refugees and how they made their dramatic escape. This included Alan Kurdi who died at the shore while with his father.
Canada was too late to help him and his family.
Now, after 8 years the refugees are being forced to return back to their homeland and U.S. President Donald Trump banned these people as per his election policy.
I suggest the following to keep peace in Syria:
Access to food and medicine must be prioritized for war affected countries.
Syria must be rebuilt before people can go back home.
Fighting must end now.
